What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are sent to and stored on your computer, smartphone or other device
for accessing the internet, whenever you visit a website. Cookies are useful because they allow a
website to recognise a user's device and preferences as well as provide us with data on how to improve
the site for our users.
Types of cookies we use:
-
Session cookies - These are temporary files, which only last for the duration of your
browsing session on the website. Your web browser will normally delete these when you close the
browser.
-
Persistent cookies - These files last longer than the browser session (e.g. if you log
into a website and then return to the website later, the website knows who you are and displays
a welcome message to you). Persistent cookies enable this to happen.
-
Third party cookies - When you use our website you may be sent third-party cookies that
are not related to us. For example we use Google Maps to provide extra functionality and an
improved user experience. You may be sent cookies from such services. We do not control the
settings of these cookies, so we suggest that you check the third-party websites for more
information about their cookies.
